The Milwhite Co., Inc. was established in 1931 as a subsidiary of the Max B. Miller & Co., Inc. The Max B. Miller & Co. was very active in the development and installation of processes for the refining of lubricating oils from 1923 to 1950. The initial direction of Milwhite was in the development of contact clay sources and the supply of contact clays to refineries.
Early on, Milwhite developed a number of natural clay adsorbents, which have experienced an increasing use in contact filtration where stabilization and neutralization are of prime importance rather than extensive decolorizing. These unique natural clays experienced ready acceptance in the filtration of fuels, light oils and solvents.
In 1951 Milwhite extended their operations to include a plant producing a full time of percolation and contact grades of clays as well as special products from the clay mineral attapulgite. This move addressed the needs of the rapidly expanding petrochemical and allied chemical fields.
The future, with the technological advances being experienced, is limitless. Milwhite is constantly probing new applications for our non-metallic mineral products. In 1991 Milwhite’s original vision of supplying quality minerals to the oil industry had evolved and successfully expanded into the market of animal feed additives.
Nowadays, Milwhite is mainly focused on two businesses, one associated with the drilling mud market and one focusing on animal feed additives. Milwhite has two facilities located in Texas, one in Brownsville and another one in Houston.
So contact Milwhite today! We’re ready to supply product, supply answers or both – efficiently and economically!
