Intestinal Health Support
MilPro-TX® is a new feed additive intended to help enhance the protection and health of the gastrointestinal mucosa of chickens, pigs, calves, cattle and any other animal species. In addition, it could also help to reduce the incidence and severity of diarrhea in animals.
Weaning is a stressful time and adapting to a new feed can take a toll. The result? Diarrhea, loss of appetite, insufficient weight gain, intestinal damage and a low return on investment. MilPro-TX® is a practical and economical alternative to protect animal production against losses induced by inespecific diarrhea associated with the weaning of piglets and calves.
MilPro-TX® works by reinforcing the intestinal mucosa barrier and assisting in the regeneration of epithelium. MilPro-TX® is made from a selected blend of naturally occurring non metallic minerals derived from clays (montmorillonite) and natural zeolites (clinoptilolite, heulandite).
In laboratory tests, it has been demonstrated that the selected clays and zeolites of the MilPro-TX® reduced the diarrhea as well as the population of B-hemolytic coliforms in experimentally exposed weaned pigs to a pathogenic Escherichia coli. Also, in-vivo experiments were conducted to test the beneficial effects of dietary clays on broiler chicks challenged with Salmonella enterica serovar typhymurium. The Salmonella challenge reduced the growth rate of the chicks fed the basal diet without clays, but feeding the clay such as the one included in the MilPro-TX® prevented that reduction. Due to the zeolite content of the MilPro-TX®, it could help in the ruminant’s gastrointestinal health and may even help to lower aerial ammonia concentration under certain circumstances in the confinement facilities.
